Ability Arts and Science College for Hearing Impaired strictly adheres to the rules, regulations, and evaluation patterns laid down by the University of Calicut. Our academic program operates under the Choice Based Credit Semester System (CBCSS). We are committed to ensuring a fair, accessible, and highly structured examination environment for all our students.
The academic performance of a student in each course is evaluated through two components:
Accounts for 20% of the total marks.
Accounts for 80% of the total marks.
The 20% internal marks are distributed across the following key components:

The academic performance of a student in each course is evaluated through two components:
A student must secure a minimum of 20% marks in the external university evaluation to pass a course.
An aggregate 'P' Grade (Internal and External marks combined) is required to pass a course and earn the respective credits.
Students must be highly regular to qualify for the university end-semester examinations.
A minimum of 75% attendance in both theory lecture hours and practical sessions is mandatory to receive the hall ticket.
Any shortage of attendance (between 65% and 74.99%) due to medical reasons must be formally condoned by the University of Calicut by submitting the required medical certificates and paying the prescribed fee.
A student continuously absent for 14 working days without prior written intimation to the Principal will be removed from the college rolls.
In accordance with the special provisions issued by the University of Calicut, our students are eligible for key academic concessions to assist them in their examinations:
Students with certified hearing disabilities are eligible for a percentage of grace marks calculated based on the marks they actively score in their theory exams:

*Note: All disability concessions must be officially certified by a registered Medical Board / Government ENT Specialist (not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon).
Eligible students are granted compensatory extra time (typically 20 minutes per hour) for all theory examinations conducted by the University.
Students must carry their University Hall Ticket and College ID card for every examination.
Candidates must be seated in the examination hall 15 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the exam.
Bring your own pens, pencils, scales, and non-programmable calculators (if permitted for the subject). Sharing of stationery is strictly prohibited.
Any possession of unauthorized materials (written notes, mobile phones, smart watches, etc.) will be treated as malpractice and will be dealt with severely as per the University of Calicut guidelines.
